Rod ‘Kerrbox’ Kerr

Rod Kerr has got an incredible history as a top ten world champion surfer, a lifeguard for almost a quarter of a century at Australias most iconic beach and a plethora of stories from intense life saving situations to practical jokes where Bondi rescue pretty boy ended up sprayed purple.  I spent an hour chatting about the life and times of a legend, Kerbox AKA Rod Kerr. Recorded at the new North Bondi surf life saving club where I am a member. Thankyou Melissa Suriano – If you need to hire their amazing function facility contact lounge@northbondisurfclub.com

Cheers Kerbox!! On the phone to who I wonder? Deliveroo???

See if you can spot him. You’d think the council would have bought them thongs.

There’s a rumour he was asked to be in Manpower??

Hoppo “The Boss” at the front and Kerbox on the left….

Mike Rolls

Motivational speaker Mike Rolls talks about how meningococcal meningitis impacted his life resulting in the loss of his legs and how he uses this tragedy to empower others.
He’s a double amputee with an inspiring story that is helping people around the world amputate the dead weight in their lives in order to increase productivity, growth and overall happiness? Hes a great guy, awesome sense of humour and believe it or not an incredible golfer. One of my best podcasts yet.

Holly Brisley

I first met the stupendous Holly Brisley in the 90’s when she was hosting Agros Cartoon Connection from Brisbane and I was a DJ at radio station Triple M. Her career snowballed from there, hosting national TV shows and acting in one of Australias most loved dramas Home and Away.

Holly had a break from TV to bring up her two kids and now she’s back with movies, TV and more on the go. Recorded at the Beach Road Hotel in Bondi, we chat about her incredible career, competing on Dancing With The Stars, her near death experience climbing Mt Kilimanjaro and her life now being a working mum. Kristy Symonds wrote this great story about her in the Courier Mail yesterday as well.
Please dont forget to subscribe on iTunes podcasts and leave a cheeky review. We will love you forever!!

Enjoy Holly Brisley 🙂

Shooting Goldman

Shooting Goldman from Mike Goldman on Vimeo.

We shot this feature film a few years ago in Bondi and it played in film festivals all over the world including a massive launch in LA.

A few years in the making we are all super proud of it and would love it if you checked it out.

Here’s a link to a Daily Mail story on the film…..

Josh Horner

Star of “Oh My Josh” on Hulu, everyone’s favorite Dancing With The Stars judge and Disney choreographer Josh Horner is back in Australia and dropping some bombs in this podcast. How he came out, working with Disney, his love of Red Rooster coleslaw and what its been like living and working in the USA. He’s one of Australias greatest exports and an awesome bloke. My friend Josh Horner.

THE MASS DEBATE

This Tuesday night at Fox Studios I’m going to get down and dirty with my TV industry peers to debate the myth that “Internet Killed the TV Star”. Hang on, just have to check my invitation. No wait. I mean I’m debating for the point that the internet IS killing the TV star. Oh, shit, how the hell am I gonna do this? I’ve been working in TV for so many years and saying anything bad about these lovely people who paid my rent and put food on the table could ruin me! Could this be it? Maybe I start looking for a new career as a basketball announcer for the Sydney Kings. Oh, hang on. I already do that. Life isn’t so bad after all. Ok, let’s do this……Unfortunately, in recent years, Telly forgot almost all of his stories and mainly babbled about the same boring things over and over – usually renovations, recipes and weight loss. A very sad end to a very good friend.

Yes, It’s going to be dead and gone like VHS tapes… a landline… Remote controls for things you don’t use anymore and exercise equipment you never used at all – well, maybe once… and dust, lots of dust. Know what most dust is? Human skin… bits of you that died and fell off.

R.I.P. Telly Vision! You will be missed.

Come and watch TV fall off on Tuesday night.

Worlds Best Bingo Announcer

In my quest to seek out the daring and dangerously different people who work ON THE MIKE, (I know the abbreviation for “microphone” is “Mic”) I tracked down Johnny Bongo from Bongos Bingo. This guy is a legend and one of the best live DJ/Bingo announcers and entertainers I have ever seen. Touring Australia with his madcap Bingo show, Johnny Bingo is on a different level. One of the most fun nights I’ve ever had and way better than any bingo night at your local RSL club. Johhny knows how to rock a party like now one else. It’s a super original idea and a show that sells out in minutes whenever tickets go on sale.

Ben Darsow

Hes a fresh laugh-out-loud Australian observational & improvised standup comedian and he’s On The Mike. We did a show together at the Sydney Comedy Club and he was awesome. We had a great chat about the strange clubs he has played the world over and his stellar career that is on the rise. Please if you read this leave me a cheeky review on Apple Podcasts. Cheers 🙂

Mel Greig on The Mike

Single again after a very public break-up with her husband, radio and TV star Mel Greig is no stranger to controversy. Years after the royal family prank that went horribly wrong Mel is getting her life back on track. A radio show, dating column and a sexual land speed record that I really need to see to believe. Look oout! Mel Greig is back on the prowl and by the sounds of things shes a man eater. Hehe. I know you’re reading this Mel. She probably just screamed,”WHAT!” Ok you’re not that bad.
